DUNEDIN REPERTORY SOCIETY

MONTHLY SOCIAL IN THE CONCERT CHAMBER The Dunedin Repertory Society held an enjoyable social in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall last evening. The chamber was full, both upstairs and down, with an appreciative audience, who, after supper, danced until midnight. The edges of the stage and the small tables in the body of the hall were decorated with bowls of autumn flowers, the work of Mrs E. T. Moller and members of the Social Committee. Mrs Richard Hudson, president, in a few preliminary remarks, welcomed Lady Myers, the guest of the society for the evening, and explained that her husband, Sir Michael Myers, was president of the New Zealand branch of the British Drama League in Wellington. She announced that the so-

ciety’s next major production, Libel, had had to be postponed until July 21 to 24, and thanked the producers and players who were to provide the evenmg r s entertainment. The second was “ To Kill a Man,” by Gabriel Timmory, the first play to be presented by Miss Bessie Thomson’s Repertory Society students, with Francis Arnaud, played by Jack Hannah; Davitt Givrette, by Noel French; and Yves de Tolbrack, by Colin Paterson. The play was produced by Miss Trixie Wood.
