FORESTERS
The fortnightly meeting of Court Enterprise was held on Tuesday last. C.R. Bro. W. Stcffon presided, and, with one exception, all the officers were present. The woodwards’ report on the sick members was again very satisfactory. The C.R. asked the members to stand in silence out of respect to the late Bro. Dickel. A letter was received from the secretary of the Ball Committee in reference to the next meeting. An invitation from Court St. Andrew for the old-time dance on June 14 was held over till next meeting One maternity claim was received and passed for (Daymen t. Several courts were invited to P.C.R Bro. Neil M’Donald’s Scotch night. P.C.R. Bro. Brettell reported on the visits to Courts King Edward's Pride and Pride of Dunedin. P.C.R Bro. M’Naughton reported on the dispensary meeting, and P.C.R.’s Bros. E. Johnston and D. Mercer impressed on all members to support their own dispensary. The C.R. passed a hearty vote of welcome to P.C.R. IJro. Fleming. of Court Pride of Dunedin, who specially thanked the court for the letter of sympathy he had received during a recent indisposition. At the close of the meeting the members and friends sat down to a progressive euchre tournament. After nine games P.C.R. Sister Brettell was declared the winner of the women’s prize, with seven games, and P.C.R. Bro. T. Mason the men's prize, also with seven games. Two other brothers won seven games and on a cut of the cards Bro. Mason was the winner. The supper arrangements were in the hands of Bro. Brettell. The evening was so successful that the hope was expressed that the court would hold evenings of a similar nature more often. Bro. Brettell, who distributed the prizes, thanked Bro. George Benfell for having presented them.
