The sun's path during the month of June will be through the constellations of Taurus and Gemini, in R.A. from 4.33.46 to 6.33.52, in north" declination from 21.58.4 to 23,13.6, and in longitude from 70.4.20 to 97.46.19. The solstice occurs on June 22. A total eclipse, invisible in the South Island,.occurs on June 9. It will be visible in the North Island as a partial eclipse. THE MOON . The phases of the moon will be
as under:— June Last quarter .. 2 4.53 p.m. New moon .. 9 8.13 a.m. First quarter.. 16 6.33 a.m. Full moon .. 24 10.29 a.m. Perigee .. £ 2.30 p.m. Apogee .. 21 7.30 a.m.
THE PLANETS Mercury will be in R.A. from 3.4.35 to 5.50.0, and in north declination from 13.24.12 to 23.35.26. It will be at its greatest elongation on June 6, and in conjunction with the moon on June 7. ~«.,« Venus will be in R.A. from 1.45.46 to 3.22.14, and in north declination from 8.59.29 to 15.16.57. It will be in conjunction with the moon on June 5 and with Uranus on June 18. It will be at its greatest elongation on June 27. Mars will be in R.A. from 15.25.30 to 15.5.42, and in south declination from 20.14.52 to 19.58.7. It will be in conjunction with the moon on June 20, and will be stationary on June 27. Jupiter will be in R.A. from 19.55.56 to 19.45.12, and in south declination from 21.0.57 to 21.34.5. It will be in conjunction with the moon on June 25. Saturn will be in R.A from 0.15.55 to 0.21.45, and in- south declination from 0.38.19 to 0.9.47. It will be in conjunction with the moon on June 4.
