The largest building in the world is being erected in London. It is the new Earl's Court Exhibition building, which will be open to the public this month. It covers an area of 12 acres—similar in size to Trafalgar Square were it to be roofed in. It is not much good saying that the building is 47,000,000 cubic feet in size (observes the Sunday Referee). But perhaps it does convey something to sav that it is twice as large as St. Paul's Cathedral, and nearly five times as large as the Albert Hall. The building stands on a triangle of ground. Its only rival in size is the tower of the Rockefeller Centre in New York. Earl's Court building is two stories high: the Rockefeller Tower is on a small base and rises up 71 stories.
