ELECTION OF PRESIDENT (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 28. Professor W. P. Evans has been elected president of the Royal Society of New Zealand in succession to the Bishop of Waiapu, the Rev. H. W. Williams, who has been elected vice-president. Mr L. R. Hosking has been awarded the Hector medal and prize by the council of the Royal Society for his research in the chemistry of New Zealand plants. The amount was fixed at £SO. The Hamilton award was given to Mr C. O. Hutton, of the University of Otago.
