THE HOUSING SURVEY

TO I'HE EDITOR

Sir, —Whether the Government is right or wrong in inspecting the houses I am not in a position to judge; but this one thing I do know, that the inspector who is carrying out his duties at present in Clutha is a thorough gentleman and very well respected indeed. Why is "Loyal Citizen" so extremely anxious to have his business kept dark? If he has everything fair and above board and honest', he has no need to fear; if not, it will come to light sooner or later, and then we shall see all about his social standing about which he blathers. I would advise him to smooth down his ruffled feathers and take a back seat. —I am. etc., Fair Play. Balclutha, May 26.
