MOSGIEL MUNICIPAL BAND

ANNUAL MEETING The twelfth annual meeting of the Mosgiel Municipal Band was presided over by Mr J. White. Apart from the band members the attendance was poor. The annual report and balance sheet were read and adopted. The chairman spoke favourably on both report and balance sheet, and congratulated the conductor (Mr L. B. Borrow) on the capable manner in which lie had controlled the band and maintained a state of efficiency throughout the year. The following office-bearers were elected:—President, Mr C. R. Mazengarb; vice-presidents, Messrs John White and R. Smeaton; secretary, Mr W. J. Campbell; assistant secretary, Mr J. Swallow; sergeant, Mr J. Wilkie; corporal, Mr L. Graham; lance-corporal, Mr J. Craigie; custodian, Mr J. Wilkie; librarian, Mr M. Smeaton; assistant librarian, Mr E. Milne; auditor, Mr C. C. M'Lachlan; committee—Messrs J. Craigie, B. Watt, L. Graham, J. Swallow, R. King, J. Wilkie, J. Fogo; social committee—Messrs W. Johnstone, J. Craigie, M. Smeaton, B. Watt, E. Milne, R. King. It was decided to issue honorary members tickets at 5s each. The meeting decided to place on record the excellent work done for the band by the retiring president, (Mr J. White). Messrs J. Wilkie, W. Brown and L. B. Borrow were appointed to deal with the honours board presented by I Mr C. R. Mazengarb.
