LOYAL ORANGE LODGE

Members of the William Johnston Lodge held their monthly meeting on Tuesday evening. W. Master Bro. J. Wallis presided over a good attendance of members, all officers being present except junior deacon. Visiting brethren from city lodges and a brother from Timaru were welcomed by the W. Master. Correspondence from Grand Lodge and sister lodge was read and dealt with. The report of Grand Lodge session was continued, and the delegate was unanimously thanked for his comprehensive report on the work done at Grand Lodge. One candidate was initiated into the Order. It was decided to pay an offi cial visit to Lodge No. 39 on Wednesday evening in the Orange Hall. A challenge was issued to L.L.O.L. No. 9 to a card tournament at the next meeting. Several brethren offered to donate suitable prizes for the occasion. The treasurer's report . showed the lodge to be progressing satisfactorily, both in numbers and financially.
