BROKEN SCHOOL YEAR

MATRICULATION STUDENTS ACCREDITING SYSTEM SUGGESTED (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 26. The introduction of accrediting for entrance examinations was suggested by Mr F. Martyn Renner, principal of Rongotai College, in a report presented to the Wellington Colleges' Boards of Governors. After drawing attention to the Invidious position of pupils in this year's matriculation forms. Mr Renner said: " I consider this year is the appropriate time to introduce some modified form of accrediting of candidates in conjunction with a university examination of a standard modified, if necessary, to make allowance for the abnormal conditions under which the schools have been working. I suggest that each principal should forward with his list of candidates records showing the term marks and the term examination of each candidate over the past three years, together with an individual report dealing with application and effort, and indicating whether, in the principal's opinion, the candidate should or should not be granted a pass."
