A. Kinney’s home. The vice-president, Mrs Ramsay, sen., presided. Mrs E. G. Bruhns and Mrs J. Ramsay, jun., were elected as delegates to the conference. The motto was “Coming together is the beginning: staying together is progress; working together is success. The roll call was “Your birthplace. A competition was won by Mrs Magon. Mr Cocker, the poultry expert, later gave a lecture in the' hall. Mrs I. D. Taylor presided at the meeting of the Duntroon branch. The roll call was “A washing hint,” Ihe competitions resulted as follows: Fruit cake: Mrs Muirden 1, Miss M. Harvey 2. Sewing organdie throwover: Miss G. Priest 1, Miss J.’ Wills 2. Flower competition: Miss E. Gibson 1, Miss E. Priest 2, Miss G. Priest 3. The social hour was conducted by Misses E. Brown and E. Gibson. V V •" The Otakou branch met on Thursday with Mrs Douglass presiding. The roll call was “A verse of poetry learnt at school.” The competition was “ Oven scones,” and resulted in Mrs Douglass being placed first, Mrs Potiki and Mrs Ellison (equal) second, and Miss J. Bragg third. A sixpenny “ bring and buy ” sale was held, and suggestions for the year’s programme were given. The hostesses were Misses Blackwood and Douglass. The president (Mrs-W. Buchan) was in the chair at the meeting of the Tcmuka branch. The monthly conv petitions resulted: —Best bloom; Senior —Mrs Goodman 1. Mrs Wheeler 2. Miss E. M’Bride 3; junior. Miss B. Wheeler 1. Shopping bag—Mrs V. Brookland 1, Mrs L. J Wareing 2, Mrs G. H. Watson 3.
