THE COMMUNIST MENACE
TO THE EDITOB Sir, —Your correspondent, Mr E. W. Flint, seems to have mapped out a course of campaign for himself at least, if one may judge from the tenor of his letter under the above heading in your issue of Friday last. Let me hasten to assure your correspondent that Socialists are only too well aware of the causes of our economic troubles: hence their being Socialists. In a previous discussion in your columns with Mr Begg your correspondent admitted that he was not fully conversant with the Douglas proposals This being so, lam at liberty to presume by his latest epistle that he is in the same position in relation to Socialism. If Mr Flint desires to be an authority on any subject his first duty is to master that subject. He must also have a thorough knowledge of the viewpoint of the other fellow, who is just as sincere as, if not more so than, he himself is.—l am, etc., May 25. W. H.
