THE PRICE OF MILK

10 THF EDITOn Sir. —As a member of the Producers' Association, I am, in common with all dairy farmers, endeavouring to get a fair 'irice for my milk. lam pleased to note a letter in yesterday's paper from " Consumer," in which he states that the Producers' Association is working on reasonable lines. We are aiming for (I) a fair price for the producer. (2) properly balanced and reasonable prices to the consumer. There is no doubt that a proper system of control would eliminate wasteful competition, and wc would then wonder how we allowed the old system to bleed us : 3 much. We hope, as a result of the general meeting of milk producers which is to be held on Friday, to progress rationally and fairly towards the achievement of the two objects mentioned above —I am, etc.. May 25. Producer.
