OFFICIAL FORECAST OVERCAST AND RAINING The following is the official weather forecast: — An anticyclone of slight intensity has been crossing tha Dominion to-day, and a shallow depression with a considerable north to south extension is approaching from the Tasman Sea. INDICATIONS ARE FOR:,. Winds.—North-easterly to northerly, -light to moderate but freshening and becoming strong in exposed positions, backing soon to southerly in the far south, and southerlies extending over the Dominion within the next 24 to 36 hours. Seas (New Zealand waters) .—Slight to moderate, but rising somewhat north of East Cape. Eastern Tasman Sea: North-easterly winds at first in the northern portion, changing shortly to southerlies and southerlies prevailing; elsewhere moderate to strong, with moderate to rather rough seas. Weather. Becoming: cloudy to overcast, with mist and fog- in places, and fairly general rain developing:; temperatures colder to-raorrow.
