THE KING AND QUEEN
GUESTS AT A BANQUET PRIME MINISTER AS HOST LONDON, May 25 Mr Baldwin, who, it is anticipated, will lay down the Premiership on Friday, to-night entertained the King and Queen at a banquet at No. 10 Downing street, which was attended also by Queen Mary and other members of the Royal Family, members of the Cabinet, dominion, Indian and colonial statesmen, and other distinguished guests, including MiLyons, General Hertzog, Mr Savage, Mr MacKenzie King, Mr and Mrs Chamberlain, Sir John and Lady Simon, Lord and Lady Londonderry, Lord and Lady Astor, Mr Malcolm MacDonald and Mr and Mrs Attlee. The Royal Standard was hoisted over the house when their Majesties arrived and was flown until they departed. The Sovereign has not dined at 10 Downing street since 1911, when King George V and Queen Mary were the guests of Lord Asquith. who was then Prime Minister.
