ORPHANS' CLUB
EMPIRE DAY MEETING The Dunedin Orphans' Club held its Empire Day meeting last night, the president (Mr A. Smellie) presiding ever a very large attendance of members. An appropriate address was delivered by Mr W. Downie Stewart, a member of the club, and during the remainder of the evening a varied programme of songs and other entertainment was provided. The following contributed to the programme:—Messrs J. W. Pringle, J. Paterson, L. B. Borrow, J. Simpson, M. O'Sullivan, W. E. Snow, C. H. Russell, and R. E. M'Lean (songs); M. Chisholm, and W. J. Sinton (instrumental items)', H. R. Hobson (recitation). A. J. S. Riggs (leger-de-main) Mr J. Clark conducted the orchestra;
