MOSGIEL MINISTERS’ ASSOCIATION The Rt. Rev. T. H. Roseveare. moderator of the Presbyterian General Assembly. addressed the Mosgiel Ministers’ Association at its annual meeting, held this week in the East Taieri manse. The Rev. N. Challenger, retiring president, welcomed Mr Roseveare. The moderator said that the minister’s task was a great task—a task that carried with it great privileges and heavy responsibilities. The Church to-day was faced with many grave problems, but , the old-fashioned method., were still effective. They still needed the faithful proclamation of the Word of God, and they still needed pastoral visitation. They should be careful to put the emphasis in the right place, concluded Mr Roseveare. To know where to pause and put the emphasis was the mark of highest wisdom. Appreciation of the moderator’s visit was expressed by the Rev. D. N. Mackenzie, of West Taieri, and by the Rev. S. C. Francis, on behalf of the presbytery. Officers were elected as follows: President, the Rev. W. W. Ewart; secretary, the Rev. Hugh Graham. The president was asked to represent the association at the iprthcoming diamond jubilee celebrations of the Mosgiel Presbyterian Church.
