THE COST PER PUPIL MEMORANDUM ON ESTIMATES (British Official Wireless) (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) RUGBY, Mar. 9. (Received Mar. 10, at 0.30 a.m.) A memorandum on the Board of Education estimates shows that they are based on an assumed attendance in public elementary schools of 4,553,000. The cost per pupil of elementary education for the year works out at £ls 11s Id. The memorandum states that the total expenditure from the national Exchequer and from local rates on education will amount to £95,207,000 in 1937, compared with £92,886,000 last year.
