SUPREME COURT

NAPIER SESSIONS COMMENT BY JUDGE (Per United Press Association) NAPIER, Feb. 12. Frederick William Morely was sentenced to six months' imprisonment on each of two charges of theft. Mr Justice Ostler, in passing sentence, said that he regretted that one of the Crown's witnesses was not standing alongside the prisoner. Percy Raeburn Smyrk, charged with theft as a servant, was found not guilty on his Honor's direction.

The jury acquitted Patrick O'Shannessy of indecent assault.

Henry Victor Wright Barke, an engraver, aged 34, charged with committing an unnatural offence and, on two counts, indecent assault on a male at Wairoa, was sentenced to five years' hard labour. Keith Stewart Dawson, a motor engineer, aged 27. two charges of forgery, two charges of uttering, and also obtaining credit by fraud at Napier two years' probation. Anikanara Rarigirangi, aged 28, two charges of false pretences at Napier, one year's probation. Albert Thomas Smith, a labourer, aged 40. theft of a model yacht at Napier, one year's probation. Joe Waikawa, a labourer, aged 32, two charges of false pretences at Wairoa, one year's probation. David William M'Birney. a plumber, aged 34, obscene exposure at Napier, one year's probation.
