OTAGO CLUB A St. Andrew’s Cross Stroke Handicap was played on the Balmacewen links on Saturday afternoon.. The course was in good order, and the weather conditions were favourable for good scoring. There was a tie in the A Grade section, J. N. Lemon and C, W. Glover both recording the excellent net score of 68. A similar result occurred in the B Grade section, G. A. Russell and A. A. Hudson tying with 68 net. The following were the leading scores returned: A GRADE

ST. CLAIR CLUB

The monthly Stroke Handicap of the St. Clair Club attracted a large entry on Saturday afternoon, when conditions were all in favour of good scoring. C. Rhodes won the A Grade section with an excellent card of 69—3—66. and the B Grade resulted in a tie between K. A. Skinner and H. J, Luff, each of whom returned a net score of 63. COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS v,

ST. CLAIR

A four-ball teams’ match game was played between a team representing the Commercial Travellers and the St. Clair Club over two rounds over the week-end, and provided a most enjoyable day’s golf. The Commercial Travellers’ team won by the narrow margin of one game, the ultimate result being decided when a well-known St. Clair player was left with a putt on the last green to bring honours even on the day’s play, but failed to get the ball in the cup. The following are the results of the various games (Commercial Travellers’ names first): MORNING ROUND Wight and Scouler lost to Bennie and Clayton, 1 down: M’Dougall and MTntosh defeated Drake and Lawrence, 3 and 2; Gamble and MGhie lost to Clark and Doogue, 6 and o; Watt and M’Kenzie defeated Duthie and Cook, 1 up; Mitson and Penrose defeated Bain and Stewart, 8 and 6; Sherriff and Delbridge defeated Ravlinson and Coats, 3 and 2; Skinner and Greenfield defeated Simpson and Hill, 1 up; MTndoe and Angell lost to Richardson brothers, 2 and 1.
