TAIERI PIPE BAND

The meeting called to make arrangements for the Taicri Pipe Band carnival was well attended and much enthusiasm was shown, in an endeavour to raise the money necessary for the band's new uniforms. The following women were appointed to take charge of the stalls:—Mesdames Steven, Nicol. Smeaton, and Harty. Each of the four queens will be represented by a different tartan. Socials in aid of the carnival will be held during the winter, the carnival ending with a threedays' bazaar in August. The chairman expressed the hope that the public would give their support and thus acknowledge the service rendered to the town by the band. Mr A. M'Cloy was appointed secretary, and Messrs Kemp, Gibson, D. Connor, D. Divingstono, and H M'Leod were elected to the committee.
