CHINESE REBELS

COMMANDER EXECUTED CONVICTED OF TREASON (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) PEKING, Feb. 3. The rebel troops at Sianfu have court martialled and executed their own commander, General Wang Yiche. The tribunal, comprising his junior officers, convicted him of treason in yielding to Nanking without securing political concessions in return. The officers immediately elected General Yu Hsueh-chung acting commander and have issued a manifesto demanding cessation of the civil war against the Chinese Communists. They are also urging armed resistance to Japan and the negotiation of an alliance with Russia. The rebels declare they will not receive further orders from Nanking until Marshal Chang Hseuh-liang is restored to his post.
