MAN FATALLY INJURED

RESULT OF CROSSING SMASH (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 8. Edgar Francis Hutton, a married man, aged 34, of Conway street, Spreydon, died in Christchurch Hospital this morning from severe head injuries received in a crossing smash at Amyes road, Hornby. Hutton was driving a light truck, which was struck broadside on by the engine of a train from Little River. The truck was pushed along for 20 yards and was then tossed aside on the edge of the track. Hutton was still in the cab of the truck when it landed almost upside down on the grass beside the track. He suffered severe head injuries, and died immediately after he had been taken to hospitaL
