PLANE OVERTURNS

MISHAP AT TAUPO AERODROME PILOT ESCAPES INJURY (Per United Press Association) GISBORNE, Jan. 7. Aviation circles in Gisborne learn that the Hawke's Bay Club's Gipsy Major Moth,' 7KADK, yesterday overturned when taking off from Taupo Aerodrome, which recently underwent surface reconstruction. The plane was piloted by Mr M. Bateman, a Hawke's Bay Club trainee-pilot holding a commercial licence. Bateman was uninjured. ~ M . The plane was trucked to Hastings ior repairs.
