SPECIAL ADVERTISEMENTS A DESCRIPTION OF xjl THOMSONS’ PURE DRY GINGER ALE. (1) The bottles are of clear crystal glass, which facilitates thorough bottle inspection after washing and sterilisation prior to filling. Clear bottles cannot hide floating injurious foreign impurities, such as specks, etc. Thomsons Pure Dry Ginger Ale bottles are as clean on the outside as they are on the inside. (2) The labels of Thomsons’ Pure Dry Ginger Ale carry the words “ Pure ” and “ Carbonated,” which denote a pure, scientifically-prepared, sparkling, genuine Dry Ginger Ale, of true ginger character. No chemical preservatives are added, therefore it is not necessary for Thomsons’ labels to carry that compulsory necessary declaration. (3) Not only are the crown seals of Thomsons’ Pure Dry Ginger Ale doubly lacquered inside and out, but, for secret, scientific reasons, the outsides of the crowns are also lacquered. The crown seals are fitted with first quality natural cork, and not chemical compositions. (4) The base of Thomsons’ Pure Dry Ginger Ale is the now historically famous Bond Street sterile artesian spring water, which is of absolute purity. (5) In removing the crown, Thomsons’ Pure Dry Ginger Ale does not exhaust its sparkling qualities by spluttering, splashing, and overflowing the bottle. It opens quietly, without fuss, but. when poured gently into a glass, it at once springs into bubbling activity. This is the outcome of expert manufacturing, scientific carbonation, and bottling research since 1866. (6) Thomsons’ Pure Dry Ginger Ale contains no artificial chemical headings, therefore, after it is poured into a glass, it will not carry a permanent froth. The head will rise, but will break away towards the inside walls of the glass in the same manner as champagne. The contents will be noticed to sparkle continuously, and keep this sparkling quality for twenty-four hours after opening. (7) In raising the glass, the contents will be found to possess a decidedly refreshing, pungent, true ginger aroma, which can only be produced by the use of pure Jamaica ginger root and not chemical essences or substitutes. (8) To the palate, it is smooth yet sharp, but not aciduous. It is full-bodied, yet not sweet, is rich in aromatic aroma and natural, colour, and is of true ginger character. Thomsons’ Pure Dry Ginger Ale does not burn the tongue and throat of the consumer, as is the case when chillies and other substitutes are used, nor is it greasy to the palate. (9) Thomsons’ Pure Dry Ginger Ale, being scientifically fnanufactured, carbonated, and bottled, as well as being free from chemical preservatives, chillies, and other adulterations, will not cause distension of the stomach, which is responsible for that uncomfortable feeling or experience denoting flatulence. (10) Naturally, there must be an objection. Thomsons’ objection is that, in the meantime, their Dry Ginger Ale is much too low in price to compensate for the extremely conscientious scientific care in bottle sterilisation, manufacturing, carbonating, bottling, coupled with that of Thomsons’ service. (11) The printing of the chemical poisonous adulterations on some labels is so small and intentionally obscure that the services of a magnifying glass or spectacles are required to discern them. (12) Read all labels of many so-called Dry Ginger Ales carefully and thoroughly, and observe all chemical adulterations. Thomsons’ bear the word “ Purity ” on the crown seal, “ Purity ” on the bottle. “ Purity ” on the label.
