THE WEATHER
The weather yesterday morning was fine and warm, with a slight breeze from the north-east. Rain commenced to fall in the afternoon, and throughout the evening it rained steadily. The barometer fell sharplv to 29.20 in.
CONDITIONS IN THE NORTH (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, Jan. 5. A north-easterly gale was experienced to-day; Heavy rain fell during the morning, but ceased early in the afternoon when, with the change of tide, tjie wind abated. The barometer dropped and became steady at 29.40 in at 2 p.m. WELLINGTON, Jan. 5. The weather in Wellington to-day was dull and misty, with continuous and, at times, heavy rain. There was practically no wind. The minimum temperature last night was 57,0 degrees and the maximum today 66.1 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan 5.
The weather to-day was overcast and showery, with a fresh easterly breeze. The maximum temperature was 61.3 degrees. The barometer fell rapidly to 29.32 in.
