THE PUBLIC ORDER BILL THIRD READING CARRIED LONDON, Dec. 7. (Received Dec. 8, at 8 p.m.) The House of Commons read a third time the Public Order Bill. The Government accented amendments excluding from the operation of the act a stage or screen actor oortrayine a Communist or a Fascist, limiting the period in which a procession may be banned in any r-ea to three months, and limiting the restriction on flags and banners to those likely to lead to a breach of the peace. During the debate Mi W. Gallacher (Com.) said people had been marching to Whitehall shouting " For the King," but if they had been shouting for bread the police would have been there and smashed them to pieces.
