MOTHER AND SEVEN CHILDREN CAN OF PETROL EXPLODES OTTAWA, Dec. 6. (Received Dec. 6, at 7.5 p.m.) A message from Chicoutimi, Quebec, states that seven children and a convalescing mother, who vainly attempted to rescue them, were burned to death in the flames 'from a petrol explosion which swept their little, isolated farm home A dog upset a petrol can in a woodshed, and one of the family went to investigate and lit a match. The father tried ineffectually to extinguish the flames with a horse blanket. He and a daughter aged 18, also the baby, escaped alive.
