A NATIONAL SCHEME

MILK FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN STATEMENT BY MINISTER K (Pes United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 23. An announcement that it was hoped to have a national scheme for the distribution of milk to school children in operation at the beginning of the school year in February was made tonight by the Minister of Education (Mr P. Fraser) replying to a deputation re- § resenting the Dominion Federation of chool Committees. Remits passed by the annual conference of the federation held at Dunedin last August were submitted to (he Minister, who explained that the Health Department was now working on the details of a milk distribution scheme. It seemed that in the initial stages each district would have to work the scheme through its own form of organisation.
