MR J. H. THOMAS

RETURNING TO PUBLIC LIFE LONDON, Nov. 20. (Received Nov. 21, at 1.45 a.m.) Mr J. H. Thomas made his first public appearance since his resignation from the Cabinet, when he spoke at the Excelsior Philanthropic Society’s London banquet. He said: “I speak to you without any responsibilities, and I am not revealing any Cabinet secrets.” Mr Thomas attended the banquet as a guest of Lord Hirst. Interviewed afterwards, he hinted that he would shortly return to public life. "I never intended to remain buried.”
