HAROLD LOGAN’S RETIREMENT

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —We cannot allow our old champion Harold Logan to retire from racing without expressing through the press our very great joy at the wonderful farewell accorded him after winning his last race, the Free-for-All. That Harold Logan has endeared himself to man. woman and child as I believe no other horse has done is a wonderful tribute. We have had wonderful feelings of pride and delight at the loyalty expressed when old Harold appears on a race track, and in success or failure that loyalty never wavered. Amongst Harold’s greatest admirers are women and children, and to all of them we tender our very sincere thanks. To all the sporting writers who lauded his efforts, wrote such wonderful tributes, and were so generous to him at all times, we thank them most sincerely. We desire to thank all those who kindly offered him a “ home for life,” but please allow, that’s our job. In conclusion, we can assure everyone that chey need have no fear for Harold when he goes into glorious retirement at the end of the season. Meanwhile he will be available for the " good of the sport ” or any charitable cause. For and on behalf of Mrs and Miss Hinds.—l am, etc., Ernest F. C. Hinds. November 19, 1936.
