The weather yesterday was calm and warm, the maximum temperature being 70 degrees. The sky remained overcast throughout the day, and no sunshine was recorded. The barometer fell to 29.53 in. Fine weather with a moderate northeast wind was experienced to-day. but the conditions were cloudy and unsettled during the early morning. The barometer is falling slowly and now registers 29.90 in. ' WELLINGTON, Oct. 19. The weather was fine and sunny, but gradually clouded over during the afternoon. A moderate to fresh northwesterly prevailed. The minimum temperature last night was 51.0 degrees, and the maximum to-day 63.0 degrees. *
CHRISTCHURCH. Oct. 19. The weather to-day was very hot and close. The sky was overcast in the afternoon and a light north-west wind was blowing. The maximum temperature was 71 degrees. The barometer at 8 p.m. was steady at 28.7 in.
