THE SHARE MARKET DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE The outstanding featute of Saturday morning’s trading on the Dunedin Stock Exchange was the sharp rise in the price of Bank of New Zealand -shares, which were .sold on ’Change at £1 l?s 9d, a rise of 8d over the best price obtained during the preceding week. The market closed with further buyers at £1 19s 6d, but no sellers were forward. Nationals of New Zealand changed hands at £3, a further parcel offered at this figure failing to interest buyers, who would not advance, beyond &2 19s 6d. National Insurances were firm with reported business at 18s lud. Broken Hill Proprietaries changed hands late on Friday at £3 18s Cd, at which figure a further parcel was offered on ’Change, with buyers at L 3 17s 9d. The contributing shares were firm, with buyers forward at £2 19s. Electrolytic Zinc shares were again in improved demand, the preferreds attracting buyers at £2 Bs, and the ordinaries being sought at £2l 6s 6d. Mount Lyells remained firm, with business at £1 12s 6d, at which figure further buyers were forward, with sellers asking only one penny more. GORE HORSE SALE The monthly horse sale of Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., was held at Gore on Friday. There was a small entry, but the demand was good and competition keen. Top price of £47 was paid for a seven mare on account of Mr Maurice Windle, Riversdale. A six-year geldr ing and three-year mare on account of Mr F. N. Jones, Mataira ’ >ught £46 lOs and £4O respectively. Other sales were as follows: —Six-year gelding £32 10s. eight-year mare £36 10s, sixyear gelding £46 10s, three-year mare £4O, seven-year mare £47, 11-year mare £lO 10s, 11-year gelding £29. 10-year gelding £22, 10-year gelding £lB, four-year mare £34, aged hack £9, two-year pony £5, aged hack £2. Other offerings were passed in at the following prices;—Six-year mare £4o. aged mare £2O, six-year gelding £2l, 10-year gelding £27 10s. four-year hack £B.
