Nottingham, 870 Tinakori Koad, Wellington. Mrs G. A. Ryan, 59 Bowen Street, St. Kilda, Duncdin. Mrs M. Graham, Sunshine Lane, Sunshine, Dunedin, E.l. Mrs Rogers, 14 Severn Street, Chrlstchurch, N.l. Mrs Kent-Johnston makes the following comment:— " The first prize was awarded to a contributor who showed distinct originality and ingenuity. The competition was, however, judged chiefly on the merits of recipes or suggested uses which I considered would prove most popular in the average home. " The entries generally lacked originality, many merely substituting I'ulmalade for other ingredients in recognised recipes. The scope for using I'almalade in new ways is considerable apart from cake recipes; and more effort might have been made in this direction."
