PIGEON FLYING

RACE FROM OAMARU The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew a Flock Race on Saturday last, 134 birds competing. The birds should have been liberated at Rolleston, but owing to transport trouble they were released at Oamaru. Good flying conditions prevailed and the birds registered fast times, the winning bird's time being 93min 49sec. The first five placed birds are:— M. Anderson's Hillman, 1078.7yds per minute C. Ruxton's Hyde Lance, 1075.5 .. 2 W. Hargreave's Dundas Red, 1069.5 3 A. Esquilant's Noble Prince, 1061.6 4 J. Lynn's Gold-rak, 1059.5 .. .. 5
