AUSTRALIAN WOOL
THE BOYCOTT BY JAPAN A BOOMERANG EFFECT TOKIO, Oct. 5. (Received Oct. 6, at 1.30 p.m.) It is reported that, owing to the Japanese boycott of Australian wool, prices have soared elsewhere, and so far this season Japan has actually bought only 60,000 bales of South African and South American wool. Worried industrialists are proposing a drastic reduction in output, which, however, is not acceptable to the Government; consequently, it is anticipated that the industrialists will demand that the Government substantially indemnify losses due to the boycott of Australian wool.
