PROPOSED TASMAN SERVICE EARLY START NOT IMPROBABLE SYDNEY, Oct. 5. (Received Oct. 6, at 0.30 a.m.) Sir R. A. Parkhill, who returned by the Awatea to-day, told press interviewers that he was likely to submit the air service proposals debated in New Zealand to the Federal Cabinet thi week. He saw no reason why the whole scheme, which he believed would be satisfactory to Australia, should not be adopted within a few weeks. He added that he found fairly general support by the people for the New Zealand Government. The Ministers seemed most earnest and wellmeaning, and were working very hard to put their policy into effect before the close of the present session. Sir Archdale said he also discussed with Messrs Fraser and Nash the fruit embargo. Mr Nash told him that they were unable to do anything at present. CLOUSTON'S CRASH IN DARKNESS LONDON, Oct. 5. (Received Oct. 6, at 1 a.m.) The Times Tulawayo correspondent says that Clouston crashed in the darkness in an orchard. He was unable to find the landing place for which he was looking owing to renewed engine trouble.
