PERSONAL AND SOCIAL

After a meeting of the executive of the Otago Women's Club yesterday afternoon, Lady Ferguson gave a small tea party in honour of Mrs A. G. Melville, who is retiring from the executive.

A fortnightly euchre party and dance were held in the Pine Hill School on Thursday night. The euchre prizes were won by Mrs G. Noonan and Mr G. Woods, of Pine Hill. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss Cullin and her partner, of Dunedin.

Members of the United Congregational Church Choir offered their felicitations to Miss Doris Taylor and Mr Gordon Johnstone on the eve of their marriage. The conductor (Mr W. R. Sinclair) spoke of the valued services rendered by these two members of the choir and presented them with a token of the goodwill of their fellow-choristers. Mr Johnstone made an appropriate acknowledgment of the gift.
