Auriol (Minister of Finance) says: “We are working for a new compromise Bill, enabling an agreement between the Chamber and the Senate, and providing that there will be no decision regarding wages and prices without the approval of the National Economic Council. The Bill also specially provides compensation for ex-servicemen. An agreement is expected in the afternoon.” SENATE ADOPTS BILL PARIS, Oct. 1. The Senate, by a show of hands, adopted the amended Bill, which was returned to the Chamber of Deputies. The Finance Committee of the Chamber adopted the Senate’s compromise, and later the Chamber passed the amended Devaluation Bill. This compromise invests M. Blum with authority to suppress unreasonable advances in prices.
