WOMEN’S INSTITUTES

Reports ol meetings of branches are requested, but they should be furnished promptly for the publication 'of reports that are not supplied witnin a week from the date of the meeting cannot be promised. The South Hill Women’s Institute (Oamaru) held its first monthly meeting in St. Luke’s Hall on Wednesday, Mrs Ericson presiding. The motto was “ Nothing great is ever achieved without enthusiasm,’’ and the roll call “ My favourite girl’s name.” Miss K. Pattle gave an address on the origin and aims of the institute, and Mrs Souness contributed a song. The hostesses were Mesdames Ericson, Benson, Jeffery, Geen, Souness, M’Stay, Jamieson, and Swinard.
