COMING-OF-AGE PARTY AT TEMUKA
Mrs A. Lowrie, of Davie street, Temuka, entertained a number of friends at a party held in the Druids’ Hall on Monday evening to celebrate the coming of age of her youngest daughter. Lorna. The hall was tastefully decorated for the occasion, and the major portion of the evening was devoted to games, competitions, and dancing At an interval Mr A R. Toplis, on behalf of Mrs Lowrie, presented the guest of the evening with a gold key which was acknowledged in appropriate terms. Mr J. A. Burgess, on behalf of the guests present, thanked Mrs Lowrie for the evening’s entertainment Mr Randall Heron was master of ceremonies. Miss E. Henderson and Mr G. Henderson were winners of the competitions. Among those present were Mr and Mrs A R. Toplis, Mr-and Mrs J. A, Burgess. Mr and Mrs L. A. Nicholas, Mr and Mrs V. Nicholas, Mesdames L. G. Carlyle and L.
