A north-west wind blew, becoming strong and squally in the afternoon. The minimum temperature last night was 46.2 deg. and the maximum to-day 58.8 deg. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 2. The weather this morning was sunny, with a moderate E.N.E. breeze, but the sky was overcast in the afternoon, with a fresh easterly. The maximum temperature was 56.3 deg. The barometer has fallen to 29.75 in.
