GREAT RECOVERY IN BRITAIN (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, Sept. 30 (Received Oct. 1, at 5.5 p.m.) New capital issues in September amounted to £9.546.101, compared with £6,194,413 in August and £7,719,770 in September, 1935. The total for the first nine months of 1936 is £149.127,065. The retail trade continues to expand. showing a growth in the purchasing power among all classes as the result of the great recovery in British trade and industry The sales in August were 7 4 per cent greater in value than a year before, and the total sales for the first seven months of the present trading year were 6.4 per cent, larger than for the same period in 1935 In August stocks were 2.9 per cent, higher in value than a year earlier, and employment was 2.5 per cent, greater.
