ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
CONTACT WITH LIVE WIRE TWO MEN INJURED (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. When a fencing wire with which they were working came in contact with a power line at Normandale, overlooking Lower Hutt, this morning Daniel M’Manus, a farmer, received severe burns and shock, and Jack Lawrence, farm labourer, burns on the arms, hands, and legs and shock. Both were removed to hospital. M'Manus's condition is said to be very serious, but Lawrence is slightly better.
COMMERCIAL TRAVELLER’S DEATH After evidence of identification had been given, the inquest at Greymouth on Monday into the death of George Menpps Angus, a commercial traveller, aged 57, of Dunedin, who suflered a slight injury in a motor car accident at Camerons on August 29. and died in hospital at Greymouth on Sunday, was adjourned sine die by the coroner. Mr H. Morgan. Allan Bruce Lane, a relative ol Angus by marriage, who identified him. said that Angus had told him about 12 months ago that he had to be careful with his heart.
