KAIKORAI SCHOOL

The monthly meeting of the Kaikorai School Committee was held last week, Mr E. Sinclair presiding over a full attendance of members. The headmaster reported that the roll number stood at 508. Twenty-seven new pupils were admitted during the term and 13 had withdrawn. The first assistant, Mr H. L. Brown, had left at the beginning of the term to accept a position at the Richmond School, Nelson. The Visiting Committee reported everything in and around the school to be in good order. The euchre evenings which had been held during the winter months had now ceased. The committee expected to have the school remodelled at an early date. Accounts amounting to £36 19s 2d were passed for payment.
