THE WEATHER
o The weather yesterday morning was threatening but the sun shone throughout the day and conditions were pleasant. There was a cool breeze from the south' which prevented the temperature from rising above 60 degrees. The barometer was rising in the evening. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, Sept. 29. A moderate southerly wind and fine weather were experienced to-day. The barometer registered 29.95 in after rising ,40in in 17 hours. WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. A light shower or two fell in the morning and it was mostly cloudy until after mid-day. The afternoon was fine and sunny. The minimum temperature last night was 41.0 degrees, and the maximum to-day was 56.7 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 29. The weather to-day was fine and sunny after showers during the night. The maximum temperature was 57.3 degrees. There was a very light north--west breeze in the morning, changing to south-west in the afternoon. The barometer is rising slowly and now registers 29.90 in.
