“THE COUNTRY DOCTOR”
COMEDY-DRAMA FOR STATE The vigilant precautions which have preserved the blooming health I of the famous Dionne Quintuplets 1 were not relaxed for one moment i during the production of “ The Country Doctor,” to be commenced j to-morrow at the State Theatre, 1 even though 20th Century-Fox i was making motion picture I stars of these babies. During the ! production of the scenes in Calleni der, Ontario, home town of the I quints, members of the film unit I working on the production were I allowed into the nursery only after j their noses and throats were I sprayed and they had donned surI geons’ gowns and gauze masks. I Jean Hersholt, playing the doctor, j and Miss Peterson, as the nurse, were the only exceptions to the I rule. But Hei'sholt’s blue business | suit, worn in the picture, was thoroughly sterilised for each scene, as were Miss Peterson’s uniforms. Working under the personal supervision of Dr Allan Roy Dafoe, the quints’ physician, the company photographed the children for one hour each day. Specially built lights which eliminated the harmful rays were devised for these scenes.
