GLOUCESTER v. INDIA HOME SIDE SCORES 313 LONDON, August 10. Gloucester in the first innings scored 313 (Hammond 81). India in the second innings has lost six wickets for 123. The visitors in the first innings scored 154. LARWOOD INJURED LONDON, August 10. Notts County is not surprised that Larwoo.d is not included in the English team for Australia. A club official said: “ Larwood is still troubled by his foot. If it had not been wet this summer he would not have played as much this season. If he had gone to Australia it would have been necessary to nurse him carefullv and play him only m tests. Even then the hard grounds might have been too much for him.’ Notts announces that Larwood fractured a rib at the Oval on August 4, and will be unable to play for some weeks.
