REPRESENTATIVE GAMES OTAGO B v. NORTH OTAGO A The senior game, Otago E v. North Otago A, proved to be most interesting, the two teams being very evenly matched. North Otago scored the first goal, and this was quickly followed by a goal by Miss O. Ferg- son (Otago). Miss M. Faulkner (North Otago) was the outstanding defence, and stopped several of Otago’s quick forward movements. Miss Ireland (North Otago) played very well, and succeeded in scoring several times, and made the half-time score s—all. Olga Ferguson opened Otago’s score in the second half. North Otago retaliated. and for the next few minutes the scores were evenly added to. Miss Gillies added most of Otago’s goals rapidly, while the other forwards combined particularly well. Otago appeared to have most of the ball, but North Otago’s accurate shooting kept the scores even. Both teams were playing well, and both scored during the last few minutes, but Otago managed to retain its lead of one point, and the final score was 12 —11. Misses R. White and M. Gollan were the outstanding Otago centres, and Misses E. Peterson and J. Fraser did very good work for North Otago. OTAGO C v. NORTH OTAGO B Otago opened the scoring, and this was followed immediately by a goal by North Otago. Otago centres worked well and kept the forwards supplied with the ball. North Otago speeded up their play towards the end of the half and accurate shooting on both sides made the half time score 10 —6 in Otago's favour. Otago opened the score in the second half, North Otago quickly following. The Otago centres showed themselves to be equally good at defending and attacking, Miss L. Douglas and Miss B. Neill instituting several good moves. Miss J. Martin showed herself to be North Otago’s best centre player. Of the * defence players Miss Atkinson (North Otago) and Miss F. Smaill (Otago) were outstanding. Miss G. Ogg and Miss L. Backer scored most of Otago’s goals, making the final score 15—10 in Otago’s favour. Miss M. Fleming controlled the game.
