MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Otago Rugby Union was held last night. The president (Dr Perry) occupied the chair. APPEAL UPHELD.

A letter was received from the Port Chalmers Club explaining why Docherty had been played in the Fourth Grade match against Ravonsbourne, this player being over-age. The player and the captain of the team, it was stated, had been reprimanded in connection with the breach. , The explanation was accepted, and the match awarded to Ravensbourne. COUNTRY FIXTURES.

The secretary of the Vincent Subunion wrote advising that his sub-union had confirmed the dates of the following matches:—Vincent v. Tnapeka, June M, at Roxburgh or Miller's Flat; Vincent v. Maniototo, July 4, at Omakau. PLAYER SUSPENDED.

The referee (Mr Moynihan) reported having ordered off a Southern player for deliberately striking an opponent in the Third Grade match against Alhambra. The referee and the player appeared before the committee. . The referee said that he had previously cautioned the youth for playing a man. The game, otherwise, was a clean one. It was decided to suspend the player for one playing Saturday. CURTAIN-RAISER.

It was decided to play the junior representative match between Otago ami Southland as a curtain-raiser to the senior game on August 1. RAILWAYMEN'S MATCH. It was decided to grant the use of the Caledonian Ground to the Hillside apprentices for a match against the Addington apprentices on the morning Ot June 23. If this ground is not fit toi play Tuhmia Park is to be utilised. TRIAL MATCH AT DUNEDIN. A letter was received from the Maniototo Sub-union stating that it aid not wish to nominate any players for the trial match to be played in Dunedin on June TRANSFER. E. Treweek was granted a transfer from the SeaclifT Club to the Alhambra ClUb " TEAMS TO TRAVEL. Permission was granted to the Training College A and B teams to travel to Kaitangata on June 23 to play the Clutha seniors and Kaitangata juniors respecPermission was granted a University team to travel to Ashburton on the kings Birthday to play a match there. Mr H. F. Fook'es will be the manager. Permission was granted the Pirates Club to send a Fourth Grade team to Balclutha on the King's Birthday to play a match there. Mr H. Perry will be the manager. , . . Permission was granted a Kaikorai team to travel to Miller's Flat on the King's Birthday to play a match there. Mr D. H. Cunningham will act as manager. It was pointed out that- players selected to play in the tria.l match at Dunedin on the King's Birthday would be expected to be available. SUB-UNIONS' TOURING TEAM.

Messrs P. R. Clarke (Maniototo). R. F. Batchelor (South Tuapeka). T. Duecan (Vincent) and A. T. Ottrey (West Otago) were nominated for the position of manager of the sub-unions' team which is to nlay at Oamaru and Invercargill. A ballot resulted in the appointment of Mr Batchelor. TLAYER CAUTIONED. L. E. Macassey reported having cautioned H. Smith, of Southern, for "illegal tactics whilst on the ground after he had tackled a University player."—The player's name be placed on the cautioned list. EARLIER START FOR MATCHES.

Mr T. O'Shea, on behalf of the Flag Committee, stated that an attempt would be made to start the games for the next few Saturdays at half-past two.
