BALCLUTHA Rugby Football Two games were played on the. Balclutha Show Ground ou Saturday afternoon. The first, between Clinton 111 and High School, resulted in a win for the former by 16 points to 3 points. Tha School team was too light for its opponents. A very evenly-contested game followed between Clutha II and Valley. The play was uninteresting, although there were occasional bright spots Neither side scored. Mr W. Pitt was the referee.

Clutha seniors maintained their unbeaten record this season by defeating Owaka on their own ground by 3 points to nil. Owaka showed a great improvement compared with the display they gave when visiting Balclutha in the first round. _. Other district matches resulted:—First <rrade: Star 17, Clinton 5; Crescent 10, Toko 11. Second Grade: Union 6, Woodlands nil. Third Grade: Crescent 6, Toko 6.

Gun Club Shoot

The South Otago Gun Club held an interesting on their ground at_ North Balclutha on Saturday afternoon in fine weather conditions. Results were: SIX-BIRD EYE-OPENER. ■

This was an interesting 6hoot, the scoring being remarkably even. J. Stiven, D. Campbell, and Clem Wilson tied 'with the maximum of 15 birds, nearly all with the first barrel. The others competing were: C. Falconer, A. Cambpell. D. Willocks, C. Thomson, H. Sinclair, Wilson Elliott, C. Willocks, G. Sinclair, S. Aburn, W. Mason, R. Maxwell, N. . Wilson, W. Dippie, A. Hayvvard, R. Arbuthnott. The last competitior finished at dusk, and, as it would have been too dark to permit of a shoot-off, the three highest divided the stake.
